Restylane Lyft Dermal Filler

With each year that passes, your skin—particularly on the face—changes, and can begin to increasingly look tired, aged and loose. Hyaluronic acid—a substance naturally produced by the skin to retain moisture—begins to diminish, contributing to these unfortunate signs of aging. Without it, the fat pads beneath your cheeks begin to sag, causing your once-round and plump cheekbones to appear flat. Deep wrinkles begin to set in, and nasolabial folds (laugh lines) are present even in the absence of a smile.

While these changes are often alarming, you are not without options. Restylane Lyft®, a cosmetic dermal filler, can help to reverse facial aging by restoring volume to the midface and erasing moderate to severe wrinkles and nasolabial folds.

What is Restylane Lyft?

Formerly known as Perlane, Restylane Lyft is an FDA-approved dermal filler which uses hyaluronic acid gel. It is designed to treat moderate to severe facials folds and wrinkles, and to correct age-related midface contour deficiencies in patients over the age of 21. It is the only FDA-approved facial filler which restores fullness to the cheeks and midface areas.

Restylane Lyft is part of a series of hyaluronic acid fillers which address various age-related facial concerns. Other members of the Restylane family include Restylane for general facial wrinkles and folds, Restylane Refyne® and Restylane® Defyne for marionette and laugh lines, and Restylane® Silk for lip augmentation.

How do Restylane Injections Work?

If you are interested in restoring volume to your cheeks or in eliminating severe wrinkles and nasolabial folds, you will need to meet with a healthcare provider who specializes in cosmetic treatments to discuss your options. If Restylane Lyft is determined to be the best filler for your facial aging needs, your healthcare provider will discuss the procedure with you, along with any associated risks or side effects that you may experience.

Prior to your treatment you should avoid taking aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication, as they may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site.

To prepare you for the injection, your healthcare provider may provide you with a topical anesthetic or local nerve block to reduce your discomfort. Restylane Lyft is formulated with lidocaine—a local anesthetic—that will further ease your discomfort during treatment.

Restylane Lyft is injected with a thin needle into the deep dermis to superficial layer of subcutaneous tissue. Unlike Restylane injections used for other parts of the face, Restylane Lyft has a larger particle size to allow for deeper injections. While this makes it less versatile than other Restylane products, it makes it more effective for adding volume to your cheeks.

The injections are completed in the comfort of your healthcare provider's office; the time it takes to complete is dependent upon the number of injections and injection sites. Potential Restylane side effects include bruising, redness, swelling, pain and itching.

Restylane Lyft Results

Restylane Lyft helps you achieve results which cannot be attained through over-the-counter cosmetic products. In a clinical trial, subjects treated with Restylane Lyft reported a 95% improvement to their midface area after 2 months, and a 73% improvement to the area 12 months post-treatment. While individual results may vary, Restylane Lyft can help you achieve natural results which give you a younger and more vibrant appearance. These results can typically be enjoyed for up to 12-18 months.

If you are concerned with volume loss in your cheeks or moderate to severe facial wrinkling or folds, you should consider Restylane Lyft.
